失和多年未見，千紗子不甘願地返鄉，照顧已如陌生人的失智父親，並在一起意外事故中，救起負傷的失憶男童。由於男孩疑似遭到家暴，千紗子不但沒報警，反倒一邊調查男孩的原生家庭，一邊扮演起他的母親。失智的父親、失憶的「兒子」，三人重新組成家庭，各懷心事，暗自療傷。然而，這段走鋼索般的幸福生活，隨時都可能墜入黑暗深淵。
改編自北國浩二原著小說，藉由一個發自善念的謊言、一個無法道出傷痛的另類家庭，闡述犯罪、法治與道德間的矛盾拉扯。實力派女星杏挑起大梁飾演非典型母親，溫柔辯證愛恨善惡。資深影帝奧田瑛二化身失智老父，展現令人心碎的真情演技。另類搖滾樂團羊文學為本片操刀主題曲〈tears〉，輕柔又溫暖地擁抱千瘡百孔的受傷靈魂。
Chisako Satoya, a writer, returns to her hometown to care for her estranged, dementia-stricken father. She rescues a boy with amnesia and signs of abuse, deciding to protect him by pretending to be his mother. As she navigates ongoing tensions with her father, they begin to share precious moments together. However, their fragile happiness unravels as buried secrets and lies surface, threatening the delicate balance of their new life together.
